GENDER BASED VIOLENCE PREVENTION

Challenge

Gender Based Violence is Any act of physical, mental, genital or property abuse against a person because of their gender. But most of the time women and girls are in the frontline as it was reported that one in three women worldwide experience physical or sexual violence, mostly by an intimate partner. Gender based Violence is a human rights violation, and the immediate and long-term physical, sexual, and mental consequences especially for women and girls can be devastating, including death. Violence negatively affects women’s general well-being and prevents women from fully participating in society. It impacts their families, their community, and the country at large.

 

Program

It is important to fight and prevent gender-based violence because it affects the victim, the family and the wider community and the country as a whole. It is in this regards that  HIHD  participate and work in the fight against gender-based violence, seeking the ways in which gender-based violence can be  prevented or end through  different activities includes   advocacy and  supporting the victims, Facilitate and monitor vulnerable populations’ safe access to and use of humanitarian services.
